Leadership for Flourishing in Educational Organisations

What does it mean to lead for flourishing in schools? This course applies a theoretical and practical lens to learn about educational leadership with attention to wellbeing in organisations. Contemporary issues of leadership and wellbeing will be explored using educational, psychological, sociological, inclusive, and ethical perspectives, among others. Students will be provided opportunities through readings, assignments, and course work to examine characteristics, capacities, and attributes associated with leadership for flourishing in educational contexts at the levels of the individual, team and system. Further, students will be encouraged to reflect on their own stance of leadership for flourishing as they apply theories and practices taken up in the course in meaningful ways in their own professional context.
